CaLex Legal inc. has filed yesterday, on behalf of one of our clients, in collaboration with Investigation Counsel PC and Bates Barristers PC, two firms from Toronto, an application for authorization to institute a class action and to obtain the status of representative against the Fédération des Caisses Desjardins du Québec, Desjardins Trust inc. and Desjardins Investments inc.
The class is composed of, among others, the holders of the following Desjardins financial products:

The class action, if authorized by the Court, will seek the restitution to the investors of the management and transaction fees overpaid by Desjardins Trust inc. since 2005, in addition to material and punitive damages.

CaLex Légal inc. has filed, today, a request for authorization to institute a class action against Google LLC, concerning the extraction by the latter of biometric data of individuals from photos stored on the Google Photos platform. The class action seeks compensation for all individuals whose biometric data was extracted, collected, captured, received or obtained by Google from photos stored by users on the Google Photos platform.
